“Having a role model is so important,” says Dueñas, “someone who is a constant source of inspiration.” Homage to Heifetz celebrates the iconic violinist Jascha Heifetz – whose recorded legacy has long been a key influence on Dueñas – and reflects her artistic affinity with conductor Gustavo Dudamel. He and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela (of which he is Music & Artistic Director) joined María at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios to record Korngold’s Violin Concerto and Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole.
